Team Bowelbabe

We’re excited to announce that for the first time we’ll have a team of runners taking on the TCS London Marathon 2025. We had a surprising number of applications for our team this year, thank you to everyone who took the time to apply.

Our fantastic team are made up of people just like you, who all have incredible stories and are just as passionate about raising money for the Bowelbabe Fund and awareness of bowel cancer as we are. We hope by sharing their stories they will inspire you to take on your own challenge.

Two of those people are Deborah’s brother Ben James and sister Sarah Wieczorek who will be running in memory of Deborah.

Another member of the team is one of Deborah’s close friends; Emma Campbell. Emma is an author, speaker and podcast host. Through her Instagram channel @LimitlessEm, she shares her experience of living with secondary breast cancer, life as a single mum of four and shows that living an expansive and optimistic life is possible despite the challenges one might face. She received treatment alongside Dame Deborah James and was a firm friend.

Steve Bland is also taking on the challenge. He is an award-winning podcast producer and presenter, events host/speaker and public relations consultant. He joined the host line-up of the hugely popular You, Me and the Big C podcast alongside Dame Deborah James after his first wife Rachael passed away from breast cancer in 2018. The podcast has been credited with changing the national narrative around cancer.
